BFL Junior Bowl 2013

The Brussels Bulls and Brussels Tigers met again in the Junior Bowl. During the regular season the Bulls were the stronger team, what will the result be in the most important game of the junior season?

Lots of junior football!

First of all I want to thank the Ostend Pirates for putting all their videos on youtube so it's easily accessible for me and everybody else who's interested.

First up, 6 man football.
Leuven Lions and Brussels Bulls 2 playing at Izegem at the start of October

Then it's time for a double dose of Ostend Pirates. The first video shows their game against the Leuven Lions in October and then there's the rematch with the WAPI Phoenix that took place on the 3rd of November.

Finally we have some footage provided by the Waterloo Warriors of their home game against the Brussels Bulls in the 9 man junior league

2013 Senior football from the LFFAB

Here's some video form the 2013 senior football season. In this video the Waterloo Warriors take on the WAPI Phoenix. Thanks go out to the Warriors for providing me this footage.

Brussels Bulls 9 man tapes

A double dose of Bulls 9 man junior football.
First up is the tight game between the Black Angels and Bulls. The Bulls got a big lead in the first half but allowed the Angels to sneak closer in the second half.

Then we have the Bulls' home game against the Charleroi Coal Miners. Terrible weather conditions ensured both teams would have to rely heavily on their running game. The Coal Miners could not keep up with the Bulls because of fumbling issues and long runs by the Bulls running backs. This led to a rather one-sided game.

Week 3 Junior 9 man football - Waterloo Warriors v. Charleroi Coal Miners

The past weekend the Waterloo Warriors squared off against the Charleroi Coal Miners at the Brussels Black Angels field. The Miners had some impressive long runs, but multiple turnovers made it impossible for them to keep up with the Warriors. Final score: 52-18.

Week 2 Junior Season 2013: Monarchs v. Titans

Here's the tape of the first game played in Evere last Sunday. The Liège Monarchs played a 9man football game against the Puurs Titans. Unfortunately for the Titans the screen game by the Monarchs was too much to handle for them.

Junior Football 2013: Izegem Tribes and Brussels Tigers

My apologies for the weird freeze at the end of every play, no clue why my camera decided to add this effect. Anyway it was nice to see the young Tribes play as they never gave up even though the Tigers did seem to take advantage of their greater experience and athleticism.

Junior Football 2008 Season Dump

Found an old hard drive a couple of days ago that still holds a bunch of 9 man football games from the 2008 and 2009 seasons. Here's the batch of 2008 games:

First up, the Charleroi Cougars (white, black & red) versus the Liège Monarchs (yellow & red):

Second, again the Monarchs, but this time versus the (back then Bornem) Puurs Titans:

Some international action as the Leuven Lions played a preseason game versus the Alphen aan den Rijn Eagles (warmups included):

Then some in-season action by the Lions (white & black) versus the Cougars:

As the last video we have the Brussels Tigers (blue, white & black) versus the Antwerp Diamonds (white, red & blue):

First LFFAB game: Fighting Turtles v. Brussels Tigers

Here's the first LFFAB game for the blog. The Louvain-La-Neuve Fighting Turtles against the Brussels Tigers in the last game of the LFFAB regular season.

Watch the two teams battle it out:

Preparing for the 2013 season: Fighting Turtles v Bornem Titans scrimmage

Another nice find today, apparently the Louvain-La-Neuve Fighting Turtles played a scrimmage game against the Bornem Titans before the 2013 season started.
Enjoy!

Crowning the champion: Belgian Bowl game film

Did not know before that all these great videos were available on youtube, but definitely worth the look.

First up, Belgian Bowl XXIII in 2010 with the Izegem Tribes facing the Brussels Tigers:

Then, in 2011, the Izegem Tribes go to the Belgian Bowl again, although this time it's an all-FFL party with the Brussels Black Angels as their opponent:

In the 2012 Belgian Bowl XXV the Izegem Tribes are no longer one of the contenders. Two different teams square off: Antwerp Diamonds and Brussels Tigers. Unfortunately only a recap of the game seems to be available online:

In Belgian Bowl XXVI the Brussels Tigers return to defend their title as national champs facing off against the Brussels Bulls:

Some 6 man football from the 2011 Junior Season

Some older tape, but might be useful for the coaches and players who will be playing 6 man football next season. Get a feel for what 6 man football at the junior level in Belgium looks like!
